Looking for a place to park my fifth wheel in the next couple of weekends in or around red river, NM. There are mixed reports about Fawn Lakes. Some say it is year around but the forest service says no.
Do not need hookups or even a "site" just a place safe to park and use as camp for a few days.

Yes, Carson closes the camping areas between RR and Taos and between Taos and Angel Fire pretty early. They're gated and closed.
Not terribly far away is Wild Rivers Rec Area, just a few miles north of Questa. They have a campground, too, though I don't know if they're open at this time of the year.
eubank, Yes wild river is an option as our purpose is to go fly fishing and that would be nice place. However I would enjoy being in the pines and just drive down.
