Just got on Medicare, but have not signed up for Part D. At this time, I only take two medicines, which I can get for $4.00 each. But, since we cannot predict the future, I am looking at different drug plans. Any suggestions which are good and also cheap?

Good and cheap really don't go together. I take considerably more prescriptions than that so I need GOOD which isn't cheap. Silverscript has no doughnut hole which saves me a bundle of money but doubt if it's available with just ANY policy.

one of these plans, don't know if it is D, really goes up in cost if you wait and add it later. might want to check into that.

I just 65 as well and took both medicare and part D. Also in same situation as you regarding medicine costs. However, if you read the literature regarding Part D you will definately be penalized for not signing now even tho you may not need it. It will be a percentage of your SS costs and rises every year you do not enroll. Plus, you may have to pay based on your health at time of eventual sign-up as opposed to now. Advise you carefully read all the paperwork before opting out of Part D.

D has a penalty if you don't sign up when first eligible. I waited until the next year and the penalty when they got around to asking for it was not alot($47). Find the cheapest plan you can and unless you foresee a huge change for the worse on your meds sign up for the cheap. The next year you can change if another plan fits better. Worked for me.

My Part D program is with Medco. Have been with them for over 10 years
supplying me with my maintenance medications. Very good service and
reasonable cost. Get 90-day supplies and have all medications generic
except two. We are full-timers and I never have a problem with getting
them shipped to wherever we are.
