I am in the middle of adding an additional water tank to my PUP. The 36RT came with only a 35 gallon water tank. I purchased a replacement tank from Starcraft to up my water capacity to 76 gallons including water heater. I used the same type of tank that came originally with the trailer, because it was already formed to allow the roof lift cables to work properly. I had to re-route a gas line but other then that it went in just like the one that was already there. Here are the pictures:

Nice work!
Looks like that was the only place to find that tank, with the consideration for the center being cut-out for the mechanical equipment.
Just remember that 70 gallons of water is about 600 pounds. Hopefully you will have a place for all that gray water too!

I agree - nice work..but also, did you check the CCC (cargo carrying capacity of your PUP? Adding that much extra weight may push you over the rating of tires and axles..Our pop-up had a very low CCC.

On a normal PUP I would think there may be an issue. The GVWR for the 36RT is 7000lbs. The other concern I had was putting to much weight behind the axle, I counter this weight with the 1200lbs I usually have on the front deck. With both tanks full, the water is still less then 10% of the total GVWR.

Nice MOD, I have always wanted to figure out how to add some extra water to my PUP. Don't think this type of MOD would work for me though, my PUPs to little.

I enjoyed reading about your mod. I am currently looking to do a similar mod and add a gray tank to my Aliner because it didn't come with one.

Too cool. Doesn't interfere with rear cargo carrier slides either.

do you think this would be safe to do on a regular single axel pup? I want to add another 19 gallon tank underneath my trailer.

The almost 200 pounds would have to be located so as to NOT unload the trailer tongue. Low tongue weight can make the trailer untowable due to sway.
Step one get a scale weight and tongue weight on the camper to see what you are starting with as to location and amount of CCC you'll have left.

I dont think it would. The single axles dont seem to be beefy enough.
