Well Richard & I finally made it south for the winter, and we couldn't be more pleased. Our problem right now is getting cable or a dish.I don't know what the other people do but here we just keep getting the runaround. Can anyone enlighten us.

If where you are staying offers cable, that is one alternative. Another would be to call DirecTv (my personal choice) or DISH and have them come out and set you up. Of course, I'm assuming you already have an antenna. If not, then you will need to make a choice.

Time Warner seems to be the only cable service in the area if you want to go that route. They have an office in McAllen on Dove St - East 900 block, I believe.

The runaround from whom? Have you asked other people in the park?

What size dish do you need to acquire Shaw Satellite ie Starchoice down south? We understand if you subscribe to Shaw Satellite that (for a cost) they provide a dish for your home and then if you travel by RV they will provide another dish for $100 one time charge. How difficult is it to find the satellite? As you can likely tell, we are considering getting Shaw Satellite for our winter sojourn as we understand it also works well in Mexico.

Thanks...........

I use the same size dish as I use at home in Saskatoon. I haven't had any problems finding the satellite in the RGV and have friends that use it in Mexico. I have heard of some users in southern Florida having difficulty locating the satellite. When I signed up with StarChoice for their Home away from Home package it was free however I had to locate my own dish. Now I have heard that it costs $100 however they provide an additional dish.
