We use Skype occasionaly for comp to comp free calls. It's worked great for us.

I have Skype, Magicjack, and a VoIP line for business and travel. The Skype has incredible codecs for it's service. It is very stable and clear for U.S. and international calls. All of them are good, but of the 3 services, Skype is the best.

We do use Skype, but for our main purpose in using such a service, we use Windows Live Messenger. We mostly use it to video chat with our daughter in college, and WLM just works better for us.

I use skype almost everyday. I am in multi person conferences regularly. It is very stable, free for computer to computer calls, and very reasonable for computer to international land line calls.
I am also chatting, sending pictures / files, sharing the desktop, etc... with others using skype.
I would highly recommend skype.

why use it? if i need to call someone i take it out of pocket and dial? i dont call mexico or canada either.

I use iChat mainly and on occasion Oovoo.. Both far better then Skype.
