We are preparing ourselves to becoming full time RVers. British Columbian Canadians. Downsizing our belongings, ready to sell our house and buy a diesel pusher as our home. Need to know anything about extra health care, address in Canada, etc. Appreciate anything that might help us. Have lived in Britain, Australia and Canada, so are not wimps on anything that is thrown at us. Looking forward to any help we can get.
Hello and welcome to the forum...and welcome to the best lifestyle possible. We are f/t in Canada since 2004 spending most of our time on the other side of the rockies from your location. We very seldom go across the border into the USA. If you would like to ask us various questions, please email us and we will do our best to give you ideas to consider and to let you know what we have done regarding the topics you indicated and other matters. As authors we have written extensively about RVing in Canada 12 months of the year.

We've been f/t for just over 2 years now. There are some issues that are unique to Canada. We're just in the process of establishing BC residency which isn't the wisest financial move we have ever made. We do however spend more time in BC than we do anywhere else in Canada so it seemed like the honest move for us. If you intend to spend the winters in warm climates then it will be a serious challenge to adhere to the letter of the healthcare law unless you never leave BC while you are in Canada.
We have a UPS address which is working well for mail forwarding. We also still have a Canada Post box in SK which is permanently forwarded to our UPS address. To comply with BC's driver's license requirement we have an arrangement with some friends who own property in BC. We spend a lot of winter time in Mexico and we don't buy health insurance for that time. When we are in the US we buy additional coverage through CAA. Some friends of ours just bought a MagicJack - I'd take a hard look at that for a phone number. We're considering getting one so that we would have a "home" phone number wherever we are.
