Kieth, I read the reviews also and I know what they say. But I also beat the******out of both the Camaro V6 and the Mustang GT. The Mustang GT is 315 hp and the Camaro V6 is 304. You do see I could have compared the SS to the GT but that would not have been fair. The GT does NOT run neck and neck with the 426 hp Camaro SS. Its not even close. The next gen 'stang has stepped it up but this one feels more like the V6 Camaro. I drove both of them back to back.

I favored the F-150 over the Silverado. I gave our Traverse a big knock on pricing and gave the Pilot very favorable comments.

The RX competes with the SRX. That is no contest. Our Equinox is more on par with the RX than the SRX is. The SRX is way better.

I gave props to the Stang for great seats and interior layout. Its not my fault that it needed a wake-up call when you floored it.

There were no "ringers". The cars were comparably optioned and in the same class.

Have you driven them or are you going by what you read and hear? Because you will read and hear many different opinions, which was what this was, but mine.

One of the overwhelming differences in the GM cars vs. others is that GM seems to have great handling packages on most of their rides. We did slaloms and mazes at speed. The Pilot, Accord, Lexus E 350 and Mustang just seemed soft compared to ours.

The 175+ GM employees had a lot to say about the competiton and much of it was very favorable. And Like I said in the end, I came away feeling our products were as good or better. From what I saw Monday, we are not "worse". In fact, I think GM and Ford are much better than the foreign brands.

And are you saying I didn't write that? I don't see why you think anything was cut and pasted. I don't consider it a masterpiece by any means, but it is mine. Why do you jump to these conclusions?

After having compared the 09 Equniox to the 09 Escape. I found the Equniox to be severly lacking in every way. In short it SUXed. The Ford was better in EVERY way.
However. After looking at the new 2010. The Equinox has caught up with the Ford. It is as nice inside, and the ergonomics have inproved 100%. They do still have some issues with some coloum levers being too busy, but still better.

As for the traverse. it is a very nice vehicle, with the same stuff as the E, and the same problems. The problem with these vehicles is the price. It is hard to compete with similar equiped vehicles, and charge thousands more for them.

You and I agree. I felt the Travers was better, but it was alot more. It is the #1 seller in this segment, but I question if that will continue.

The '09 and '10 Equinox aren't even in the same universe. You als point out something I said above, and that is how GM and Ford are very nice. Much better than the RAV4.

My suggestion was to have another ride 'n drive with people we suggest. I'd grab every skeptic I know. I don't believe for a secong that a discerning and non-biased person would slam our products when you run them back to back against the competition.

Every magazine has them within 10ths of a second of each other at 60mph and the 1/2 mile. I'd call that neck and neck. The GT has consistantly shown better handling and more grip on the skid pad. If you want I can look up numbers for you if it makes you happy. What you wrote goes the exact opposite of what has been written by well established drivers that tested these cars before. The Mustang is several hundred pound lighter than the Camaro. That is where it makes up for the lesser hp.

I know that some mags write up the stand as better, but many put the Camaro as the winner in comparisons. We can both provide links to back our versions.

What I am saying is that I drove the V6 Camaro, the SS Camaro, and the Mustang GT. I would LOVE a GT for my own, but I would wait until next year when they put a motor in it. In my opinion, the V6 (with a stick) in the Camaro felt as as fast as the Mustang. And when I stepped on the Mustang, the front end lifted like an early 70's muscle car. The Camaros felt like go-karts in comparison.

Does the V6 Camaro outweigh the Mustang? Or does just the SS? I forget.

I drove a new GT last week. I'd lay odds DW's V6 Lincoln would out run it!!

Now,... there is something I did not consider, I did not look to see what the mileage was on the cars. They were all relatively new. I have heard that the GT wakes up around 4000 miles. If that is true, a fast winding V6 would feel peppier.

I'm telling you straight up, when I punched the GT, it took a while to get moving. It eventually did go, but it was not as responsive IMO.

GT - 3585lbs curb wt, 0-60 5.3 sec., 1/4 mile 13.8sec./104mph, lateral accel .93g
SS - 3875lbs curb wt, 0-60 4.6 sec., 1/4 mile 12.9sec./110mph, lateral accel .89g
RS - 3771lbs curb wt, 0-60 5.7 sec., 1/4 mile 14.4sec./98mph, lateral accel .89g

GT was less money than the SS but not the RS. GT beat both on slalom.

The Motor Trend Camaro SS tested was a tick slower. I don't have the issue handy.

Funny thing is the Hyundai Genesis is a more accurate compare with the RS but it out performs it. Also note GM will compare a specific model with an average model. One of the Howie Long ads has him comparing an off the rack Corolla or Civic with a Cobalt SFE and stating the Cobalt gets better mileage. The SFE is a special fuel efficient model. Their mph comparison with the Malibu and Camery is stretched as well. The difference? A whole 1-2mpg when you read the fine print. GM is not going to invite or have on hand vehicles that will make theirs look bad in a comparo they are sponsoring. I am sure this is the same way with other manufacturers if they were doing the same promo.

The OP no doubt has a GM bias. IMO it belongs in the spam catagory.

Is anyone really considering GM????

If so you may want to take a look a what has happened over that last year or two.

Do you think that quality and reliability is a key factor of a company that needs a government bailout????

GM is going to be cutting corners in every aspect of their manufacturing process, NOW and the next 10 YEARS. Its not a good time to purchase anything from GM.

I really didnt want this to turn into a whizzing match. I work at a car company. It's all I got when talking about work. This was fun and I wanted to share. And since it's a tow vehicle forum, the only trucks I would consider a real tow vehicle is the F-150 and Silverado. What did I say about them? I liked the F-150. So much for bias.

I drove every one and ran them hard, then reported what I found. You call it spam.

Is anyone considering GM? Heck yea they are. We still sell a competitive amount of vehicles in comparison with the other makes. If nobody is considering us, how do we sell this many?

Your last statement is a direct contrast of the truth, but it rings synonymous with California bias.

I had a blast Monday and wanted to share. I'm an ametuer and I said so in my write-up. I only know what I saw and felt.

GM stuck me once with a 5.7 diesel. Then they stuck me again with my tax dollars bailing out stupidity. I intend to NEVER let them stick me again.
