No one ever said it doesn't work. Perhaps the other controller is defective? There are a lot of variables. Wiz should connect array directly to battery. Then connect pwm controller. Charge current should be about equal.

Was the other controller in float and the MPPT started in absorbtion?
Unless the battery charging voltage was identical you are not comparing the same thing.

Don I don't think it's was an 8 amp conversion increase
this array will hold 24+ amps on either controller if the batteries SOC is low enough during solar peak hours, i 've seen it
the highest peaks with either controller happen when its overcast in the morning and then clears during peak hours, theoretically this gives the C40 a slight advantage in that it won't clamp/limit the output to 25 amps, but the 4 Hr charge then go to float? appears to more than offset that possibility, giving the overall performance as vantage to the 2000e
like Salvo said its a voltage thing
the c40 switched charging modes, 4 hrs or so then Bam, it reduces charge voltage and output
the 2000e MPPT constantly checks battery voltage and trys to maximze current
the 2000e doesn't appear to use time to determine mode change over factor , it uses the checked voltage level to determine when to change charging modes
we'll see what today brings
checked a few minutes ago 10:45am 18+ amps
11:30am 19.72 amps
solar 'noon' is at approximately 1:04pm
1:12pm
19.02 amps .... 260.2 watts
total so far 1181.7 watt hrs, 87.53 AmpHrs
peak readings. 19.81 amps. 271.6 watts. No clouds No Lensing
clear & sunny 84F
2:30pm
14.54 amps. 211.0 watts, 1414.7 watt hrs 104.7 AmpHrs
fridge came on output went up to 18.51 amps

sunny clear 74F near perfect weather
1hr of generator in the morning , 20 minutes at lunch, good solar all day

Okay, two hours or less of gennie spread out over the day. I have a good fix on the Wiz's usage from early discussions, but I've lost track of how many panels he has now, their nominal output. Anyone?
Also, I think he's up to 6-GC2 batts, right?
