I have now replaced all the lighting in my B with LEDs (12 fixtures). I expect the LEDs will make the batteries last at least three times as long. I did a side by side comparison of one of the 48 LED panels I used in the main fixtures and they are just as bright as the incandescent lamp right next to it. The light from both looks the same or so close I can't tell the difference. The smaller LEDs give off a bluer light but I don't care as they are use when you just don't want to trip over anything. The LEDs give off almost no heat which is great as the incandescent lamps melted the lenses or made some brittle after a while. Final cost for all the new lamps was around $60.

It appears most here prefer the warm white LEDs, but I much prefer the cool white. I think they are often brighter, and look better. I have had them in my 4Runner SUV for several years, and am now converting our TT to the cool white LEDs.
Don't assume you will like the warm white better than the cool white. Try both and see which floats your boat.

I converted ours a few months ago: cool white. We prefer the brighter color of light.

Most LED lights from Ebay uses resistors to limit the current to the LED's, the resistors does get really hot, but not as hot compared to a halogen bulb.

I actually measured the surface temp of mine. LEDs are all around 70 degrees. The incandescents run a little over 400 degrees.

The LEDs doesn't get that hot, but the resistors which are usually mounted to the back of PCB get's really hot, I did burnt the tip of my finger when I accidentally touch one.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Seriously, hope it heals quickly. I rub a bit of fresh Aloe Vera on burns, very effective.
My ebay LED's seem to run very cool.

lol...just a 1st degree epidermal burn, nothing serious. It happened when one of the LED panel came off from base, the double sided tape securing it has failed from the heat generated by the resistors.In the process of replacing the tape, I accidentally touched one of the resistors. I'm planning of replacing them with better quality ones.
