Lookin' sharp, UP! And isn't it nice to hook up with a gal that helps make your dreams come true. I hope I can get something even close to what you have for five times the price, great score.
Thanks guys. It's been a lot of work but well worth it. I always thought that my handle should be "junkfixer" or something since that is what I do so often, fix old junk. This old Sunny has a new life now, when it most likely would've ended up on the scrapyard.
Barney, my wife is the quilting queen. I bought her that Bernina for her birthday years ago. She has her own dedicated sewing room and can spend days on end in there. We've got wall hangings all over the house, and she does quilts for the church for raffles and stuff.
Got some new curtains in last night. Nothing fancy, they were on sale for $6 each. I like it dark when I sleep and these will do the job. I hope they're brown lol. I often come home with something green when I think I'm buying brown, that whole red/green deficiency thing common in men. Normally I ask someone at the store what color it is, but these were the only ones on sale and it didn't matter that much to me anyways, plus I think they're brown haha.
West I mentioned the LED's getting hot. Take a look at the pic below of the backside of these two I pulled the other day. These are 48 SMD panels, the original white ones I didn't like. The adhesive didn't fail on these, but did on the warm white ones which seem to get hotter than the whites for some reason. These were in the back and didn't get used that much either.

Thanks Sweetie! Believe it or not I still have a fair amount of interior work to do. The kitchen and fridge cabinets still have the old paneling on the face, doors and drawers and I intend to replace that with the birch to match everything else. Still have 2 skylights to trim, a couple small cabinets to build, install the rear window cover, paint the back bumper and give the whole thing a good coat of wax. I'll just pick away at that stuff as time permits, right now I'm just glad it's usable.
Yeah, great job on the Sunline, UP. Like you say, saved from the scrapyard and look what a nice deal you ended up with, very cozy. I saw another salvagable, today. A customer has a 1971 Kayot Forester sitting in back of his shed. When he opened the door so I could take a look, I was surpised by the interior. Here was on old TT that was like new, no apparent water leaks and everything was in good shape, except for some wear and tear on the cushions. There seems to be some of these older TT's still in good shape and the Kayot would be an easy restoration.
Did those LED panels have the sticky tape on the back and it melted off? I wonder if the back of those LED dies and the circuit board are conductive. If not, a guy could mount them to a piece of aluminum, using thermal compound, and dissipate a lot of the heat. I'll have to scrape some of that sticky tape off and see what's under there, I guess.

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, it's that time of year. Digging a basement now for the first job and all that. Anyways, yeah, those had the double sided sticky tape on the back, but it didn't melt or fail. I did have some fail on the "warm white" led's, and ended up gluing them on with a little silicone. So far so good on those. A heat sink would be a good idea although for now I'm not going to that extent. I'll wait and see how long these last before I commit to any more mods with them. I sure do like the light from these, the low power usage, and the price. My little old Sunny is pretty high tech as far as electronics go, I love it to be honest
Understood, you're building ICF, right? You want to be around to make sure that gets off to a good start, I'm thinking.
Yeah, the LED panels are just the tip of the wave that is coming at us. We'll be using this kind of lighting in everything within a few years, IMO. I saw that Home Depot is now stocking an LED can light that is a diect fit to existing 6" recessed cans. It won't be long before everything is available in LED. I will keep working on how to best implement the panels, I was trying some difusion experiments a few days ago and the 36 SMD's didn't benefit from anything I've tried so far.
I know that attachment thing, the Hilton is starting to look like the same kind of affair.
