Best money you can spend on your truck. I wouldn't own a diesel without one. Check BD Performance also, they may build one for your truck. Good luck.

I've got a US Gear exhaust brake on the truck in my sig. Great product, and I love it. I can descend most any grade with no or very little use of the service brakes. It's one of the best mod's I've put on my truck, and I've put many.

Have you considered having your truck tuned with EFI Live to use the turbo vanes as a "turbo brake" ? This is essentially how the '12 GM Diesels are tuned.

Many people like the flexibility of having switch on the fly tuning with the option of running more power or mileage as well.

Have you actually had any experience using the Allison grade brake feature yet? I found that it worked quite well when I was pulling my 13K+ fiver. I could maintain 45-50 MPH easily coming down 7% grades. In fact I often times had to use throttle to keep it at 45.

I don't think you need an exhaust brake on an '07 Duramax as the 6 speed transmission will gear down and rev the engine high enough to get adequate braking - especially with only a 10,000 lb trailer. If you try your truck out and feel you would really like an exhaust brake I too would recommend programming to use the turbo vanes.

Tow haul on top of the hill on D. When speed increases tap the brake pedal. Transmission will downshift on its own. Need more braking tap the pedal again. It will drop another gear. I am not afraid to override the transmission and manually shift to keep speeds where I am comfortable.

The Allison and your VVT (varible vane turbo) are the grade braking feature and should work fine with that size trailer. If you just have to have a actual exhaust brake I would look at the Pacbrake PRXB system.

Some folks with the DMAX/A install the Banks Speed Brake system which is a software package that closes the turbo vanes more which restricts more/longer for more exhaust braking power.
Also killerbeeperformance.com is another great sourse for info on reprograming the DMAX/A for more exhaust braking performance which is basically what GM did with exhaust braking on the new '11 and up DMAX/A trucks.

While the tow/haul is a nice feature, an exhaust brake is better by a bunch.
