Just remember....pictures don't always tell the truth.

We lived at Tree Tops for almost 10 years....and it has really changed.

Just judging from the number of requests on RV.Net, it looks like there's a business opportunity for someone who wants to invest in a decent RV park in the DFW area. Plenty of people travel through the Metroplex on their way to the BEST part of Texas (the Hill Country and San Antonio ) needing a place to stay overnight.
I actually considered developing a park in the DFW metro area. Problems were permitting and getting reasonable property with interstate access close enough to Dallas proper to justify some people staying more than overnight without becoming worker's paradise. Would have had to have been a minimum of 50 miles North on either I-35 or US75 and still would have had to pay exorbinate prices for the land. No possible place with access to city sewer, so it would take a few hundred thousand for a private wastewater treatment facility (no way drain fields and tanks would be permitted). Probably looking at +/- $3,000,000 to develop a 75 site park. Too rich for my blood without a guaranteed drawing card and the two parks near Sanger on I-35 are anything but full (granted they are not exactly great), so build it and they will come does not necessarily apply. The ideal location would be something inside the 635 beltway, but property makes that cost prohibitive. Fort Worth does have a couple of parks out by the Racetrack, but they also only seem to do great guns during Race weeks, the rest of the time they appear to be mostly filled with long termers. Just not sure there is great demand for more parks. It seems like many more people want to get outside of the Metroplex with their rigs than want to stay there.

LOL there are plenty of parks in the dfw area. But before you ask about em, just what do you expect.

Everyone says the Vineyards. Nice, but you try driving from there to anyplace during rush hours and you wont like it so well. Same for Denton. Same for Weatherford parks.

Tree Topps might not be the best class 5 star park , but it sure beat anything anywhere near the driving times.

Thanks everyone, I will do some research but I have lots of good recommendations above. I can't wait to sink my teeth into a good steak.

About 30 miles east in Terrell is Bluebonnet Ridge C/G. Clean and has a fenced dog run area. Nice people, laundry room and pool. I think most sites are pull-thrus. Seems to get good reviews. Right off the interstate.

The KOA on S. Cooper in Arlington is called "Dallas Metro KOA". Of course, Dallas is 15 miles to the east.KOA Dallas

I stayed for three months two years ago and it was fine. The staff was friendly and I met a lot of nice people. I found the location convenient. The picture were taken from the site. We found it to be a very nice campground in the middle of a metroplex. I intend to stay there on my next trip back to Dallas.
