Can anyone recommend a nice pet friendly RV park in the Dallas/Ft WOrth area? I plan on driving down from Ohio and spending a week or so in the Dallas area.

Dallas/Fort Worth covers a big, big area. Not much in the way of great RV parks. Best is probably the Vineyards in Grapevine or either Treetop Village or the KOA in Arlington. Be aware, neither is really close to Dallas or Fort Worth proper and you may be a long way away from where you want to be.

Tree Tops is definitely not what it used to be. Sites are growing over with weeds and grass......a lot of people have said they would not return because people in the office are rude and short with you. Roads are getting rough and sites need more gravel.....when it rains some sites are totally underwater.

Great park just south of Dallas, Cedar Hill State Park - dog friendly, really nice sites! Check it out If I knew how to post pictures, I would...we had a nice time there in Feb. 2 years ago...it's on Joe Pool Lake. They have electric and water...no sewer, but they do have a dump station. Look up their website - lots of photos

If you want near Ft. Worth, Cowtown RV Park in Ft. Worth is an ok park. We stay in Weatherford off I-20 at Oak Creek RV Park. Very nice park. There is a Corps of Engineers park off I-35 on Lewisville Lake. No sewer hookups but a dump station. There are other Corps of Engineers parks near Dallas. Check www.recreation.gov
City of Lewisville has a campground. http://www.cityoflewisville.com/wcmsite/publishing.nsf/Content/Campground
never stayed there but looks nice. Water/Electric. Dump Station.

Just judging from the number of requests on RV.Net, it looks like there's a business opportunity for someone who wants to invest in a decent RV park in the DFW area. Plenty of people travel through the Metroplex on their way to the BEST part of Texas (the Hill Country and San Antonio ) needing a place to stay overnight.

Not with the price of real estate. For an overnight there is WalMart. For anything longer Treetops is about as nice as you can get. It is located near the interstates. Spent a few months there and was very pleased. There is also Grapevine if you want to be near water.

If you want to stay in north Dallas area there are several COE and city campgrounds on lake Lewisville just off of I-35E. Be aware that there is an I-35E and I-35W, E goes through Dallas while W goes through Ft Worth and they split north in Denton and south just north of Waco.
