Got to looking a little closer a my new to me rig after I got it home. The tire on the left, rear axle is near bald on the inside. Stood back and took a look, sure enough, its toed out. Crawled under it, and sure enough if the axel isn't bent. Stopped at the RV place, and they said they can have a new one made for me for between 180&200 bucks. After I swap it, I'll take the spare tire off and use as a replacement, as its as brand new as the other three tires. A couple hundred bucks I wasn't planning on spending, yes. But, I picked it up at such a good price, I'm just fine with that. Just glad I know how to turn a wrench. I'd hate to pay for that repair.

My axles were bent too with bad tire wire. Took them into an alignment place and they re-adjusted them for less than $100. Put on new tires, that was back in 2005 and no uneven wear since then.

I would try an alignment shop before I would buy new . Probably more accuracy at the alignment shop than new and cheaper.

Save your money and just spring for an alignment. Any heavy duty truck/trailer shop, not an RV dealer, will be able to do this for around $100.00. Takes an hour or so.

I can just have this aligned? I mean, its a pretty big bend. Right about where the spring sits over the axel.

Yes....mine was that bad too. Save yourself the bucks and do like the other folks have suggested and take it to an alignment place. Usually they'll be up front with you if they cant do it, but it is surprising what they can do.

It would be a good idea to have an alignment done even if you decide to replace the axle.

WOW,
Thats a nasty one. You did not notice it when you bought it or do you think it bent on your way home?
I have had axle troubles on all of my previous 5 TTs. Lots of miles and potholes will do it eventually. Truck alignment shops fixed 'em every time.
With this 5er We have now, I took proaction and replaced the axles from 7ks to 8ks for brake power and axle strength. I have a use for the old axles.
What we spent on heavy axles I figure to save on bad tires and down time.
Look at my old posts last year.

Edit- narrow by. 7k to 8k axle swap for the brakes

Similar for me but before I purchased, someone put two new tires on so I didn't notice it for awhile. New axle, no problems now.

You might have a bent spindle! That is a pretty severe camber issue for just a bent axle.

I'm not sure they can correct than much. But who knows- look at the crown on your forward axle compared to the back - at least in the picture.
