We are targeting May 10th to head 'North to Alaska'. This will be our 6th driving trip and we are starting to get excited. Hope to see more babies by going a little bit earlier than usual. However, we don't plan to drive straight up but mosey along at our leisure.
I am making lists and checking off items as we prepare to leave for the summer. Hope to see some of you folks along the way. Look out for two old folks and a hyper GSP.

RVs are rolling by our driveway on the Alaska Highway every day now. Each morning see one or two in the rest areas along the highway during our commute to Whitehorse.
The trees are budding now. The snow is melting fast. Daylight is in the sky until about 10 p.m. Don't wait too long!

Robert & Diann we are planning to leave southern Oklahoma around that same time & although this will be our 5th trip up it will be our first real leisurely trip. The rest have been made more with fishing in mind so we didn't spend a lot of time "smelling the roses" along the way. Have a safe trip & maybe we will see you along the way.

I am getting more excited and hope to see y'all from OK and TX plus others this summer.
We will be going up thru the Dakotas (at least South)since Custer State Park is one of our favortie places and I love seeing the baby bison (who are orange/red in color and who butt their mother's udders when they are thirsty). We always go up the Icefield Parkway as Jasper is another favorite place. From there another highlight (for us) is Muncho Lake where we dry camp at Strawberry Flats (or at least I think that's the name).
We have friends flying up for two weeks mid-July so we will be around Anchorage to pick them up and leave them off. Ever since the Anchorage RV Park closed we don't stay long in the big city and same goes for Fairbanks - we loved Chena Marina!
Have a safe and happy holiday weekend. Family are coming to our cabin and we shall enjoy rattling around in Robert's old cars looking at the Texas wildflowers.

It's been in the 40s the past week here in Anchorage, there's only about 4 feet of snow left in the yard. I can't wait to drag out my RV and go somewhere in the next few weeks if the snow bank encasing it ever melts. Parts of Alaksa had record winters for snow fall this year so spring may come late this year since the snow will take longer to melt.
Have fun and enjoy the drive.
I took this photo a couple weeks ago in Anchorage right before it started to melt, we have lots of snow still...
