Can anyone comment which is the better route from West Yellowstone North to I90 with a MH and toad. Rt 191 north out of W. Yellowstone to Bozeman or through the park and out the north entrance on rt 89 to Livingston?

Can't comment on taking Rt 191 north but last October we took the same route SOUTH from Bozwman in our A and toad. Other than a few twists and turns I had no problems at all.

In 2007 we took 191 north out of West Yellowstone in a 2005 Mini Winnie 30 ft with a 2005 Ford Escape tow with no problems what so ever.

going north out of west yellowstone will be better than going through the park.
not as scenic, but not as much traffic, either.

Don't do what we did and go through the Beartooth Highway (NorthEast entrance). Nobody warned me that it was not a good place to take a motorhome. It was a beautiful drive, but white knuckles all the way.

We have done both hwy191 and 89 through the park. Hwy 191 North out of West Yellowstone is absolutely beautiful. It follows the Galatin River up to Bozeman area. Definately quicker than through the park but they both offer amazing views and scenery. We generally do one up and the other back and then next time change it up so we get to see both. It depends on if we are in a hurry to get somewhere or are dragging our feet getting home.

Depends on what "best" means. We traveled 191 S from Bozeman in our A and drove through the park west to east on US 20 to exit. Took the car up to the north entrance and didn't see anything that made me not want to take the coach. OTOH we were returning from Alaska and nothing in the lower 48 seems particularly challenging to us now.

Either route is scenic, traffic will be less outside the park. It will really depend on what you want to see and where you are headed on your exit.

We've done both ways with both being easy with the motorhome and both being very scenic. Flip a coin!

Either route is good. Done both many times but I prefer the park route cause I love the scenery. Why be in such a hurry in such a beautiful place.

It's a better highway with a higher speed limit and MUCH shorter drive time. Not sure exactly what constitutes "BETTER" for you though. More scenic inside the park.
