Finally took my new Cummins Ram 3500 on the road to get my 5er. Got 150 miles from home and pulled off for a bite. Came out of Culvers to find a pool of tranny fluid on the ground underneath. Anyway, had it hauled to the local dealer and diagnosed at a broken tranny cooler line. Sure hope it didn't ruin the tranny. Dealer said it still had fluid in it. No trouble codes were set. And it was still shifting ok when I shut it off before eating. Gonna try again this weekend. Gotta get the rental car back anyway.

Hope it all works out for you. Sounds like you dodged a bullet (oops, no pun intended!).

If your tranny temp did not overheat your probably OK.

As a precationary step I would have the dealer flush the tranny and add new fluid if you think it might have ran low on fluid.

Stuff happens, hopefully everything is alright. I guess you have a few years left on warranty I think Dodge will cover it, but you never know now days
Just My Opinion but I would never flush a tranny unless it was out of the vehicle sitting in a stand, you know the kind that are TOAST already.

Replace the cooler line. Drop the pan put in a new filter then fill and drive. Don't know anything about newer Dodge transmissions but that's what I'd do on my Tacoma.

Once repaired I'd make sure the whole tanny including the torque converter fluid is changed and any (if) filters are included. Hope your back up and running w/o incident...happy truckn'

That's just getting the bugs out of it. Know how many I did PDI's on when I worked for GM, that had problems before they could go from the carrier truck to the lot, probably 3 out of 5. Any thing from vibrations, unplugs electrical connectors, leaks, fuel gauges not working, caps under the hood missing, bent pulleys, rubbing exhaust systems on the frame, missing bolts,etc.,etc.. A bad line is one of the easier fixes, feel lucky.
