Where is Crescent Beach, can't find it on our map, what is it near?

He may have meant Crescent City. And that is near Oregon.

There seem to be a plethora of State Parks along Route 1 from Malibu to Santa Cruz and I suppose also on Route 101 but I can't tell which ones have hook ups, accept 36ft with slide outs and pets. I also would like to hear experiences of driving a 36-er with toad on Rt 1 visa-a-vis Rt 101. Many thanks for all your excellent input!!!
Most if not all will not have a problem with slides. Length CAN be an issue with some. Most of the beach campgrounds (mostly state beaches and parks) do NOT have hookups except Carpenteria. Ocean Mesa RV Park which does have full hookups is right off the 101 just south of Refugio State Beach though.

Has ANYONE driven a large RV with toad from Morro Bay to Carmel and actually enjoyed it? Not sure I understand the last post..did you leave your RV in Morro Bay, drive all the way up Rt 1 in your car ( 121 miles) then drive back to retrieve your RV? We have 2 dogs and a parrot with us so can't leave the RV for more than an over night. BTW we REALLY appreciate all this input..many, many thanks.

Nope drove the whole distance in the coach. Not a big deal, just take it slow. We actually continued up the Oregon Coast then over to Calgary, up the Klondike Loop to Dawson City over Top of the World highway (now there is some tough road) to Tok and back out the Alaska Highway after 6 weeks covering every paved road in Alaska - and some not paved. EVERYTHING is possible if you are patient and relaxed about it.

Hate to contradict an above post but our local Cal State Park (Grover Hot Springs) has a 25' limit so not all accept big rigs.
