The RV has had to sit for a couple months while I recover from open heart surgery and when I got into the rig it was full of "rodent" sign.
Eaten acorns and droppings all around, just in everything.
SO, I put in traps baited with nice fresh peanut butter AND NOTHING TOUCHED them!
Hence the title of this post "What animal doesn't like peanut butter but likes acorns?

We keep those sonic anti-rodent gadgets plugged into the wall sockets during storage. One in front, one in back. Never had another unwelcome visitor.
You can find them in the house pesticides section of most mega marts. Right near the RAID. We like them because they last a good long while (years) and there's no funky smell.
I agree: sounds like your unwelcome visitors have moved on.
First law of science: don't spit into the wind.
Keep on rollin'!

NOT mice, they absolutely LOVE Peanut Butter, thats all I use on traps around hunting camp. The acorns sounds more like squirrels.

We did the same thing after coming home from camp hosting at a state park - closed up for a month, then we saw all sorts of "sign". Our cats found the little boogers - chipmunks!!! They didn't touch the traps with PB, but they couldn't hide from the cats.

I had one of those sonic things in my 5Ver. Came home and found the hugest mouse I had ever seen sitting on the counter top next to it.
Try the huge heavy duty sticky traps. I catch all kinds of things in them besides mice. Birds, squirrels etc. For the larger things you need to nail them down.

From what I saw with RV-ing this year, I had friends recommend traps that you can place along a wall. Some snap traps have a wide bait tray that will cause them to go off if a mouse is running past them, as opposed to the 1 square centimeter bait trays of "classic" mouse traps. Glue traps are another option, but keep some veggie oil or isopropyl alcohol to get the crud off is you step on it.
The trick is to place traps where the critters run, as opposed to directly woo them to some food item. One never knows -- they might be just sick of nuts due to spring, or don't like the smell of the bait.

I was born in Great Falls, Mt. My parents moved when I was 5. I found them when I was 10 - they were in California.
