Ok... we have arrived at our destination and while setting up the motor for the landing jacks blew the fuse in it 4 times trying to get set up. I had to end up using the crack (sp crank) to finish. Is this my motor going or is it because it is a little loose. (it has always been) It works for lowering but raising it gets to a point and it blows the fuse. Can I put in a heavier fuse or jump it if the motor is bad until I get a new one and be careful until we get home from our weekend.
Anyone out there have this problem?
Thanks, Will check back.
P.S. We are not that close to anywhere to get parts.

Without testing I would suspect first a loose connection and second a bad motor, and third overloading the motor. What brand of landing gear?

Single motor setups stink...but yes, jumping or a slightly larger fuse only used for a short duration to get the trailer moved should be ok.
Anyhow-barring uneven distribution of weight(meaning one leg is taking more than the other) all of the electrical connections are important-there seem to be a lot in the jack setup(inluding a key and a few switches sometimes)
Do you keep the truck plugged in and the engine running(both of which will help keep the voltage at peak) when operating the jacks? Also-making sure that the trailer battery is not run down will help too.

It's a tough day when you need to hit the crack...

Thanks I think that is what I might do if I need to. I have everything leveled up and even plug into shore power. I the site we have it high front to back and it just seemed to labor a lot harder then I have heard it and it just stopped. Found it popped the 30 amp fuse and it blew every time going up. Down was OK. I have a feeling it is the motor...
Thanks for the input on the heaver fuse or jumping.

I had a similar problem with the 5er we sold to buy our MH. Started out blowing the fuses. Then I installed a circuit breaker. Started popping the breaker. Finally, the right side leg broke internally and the left worked perfectly. Changed out the whole system to a dual motor set of legs and all was well. Dual motor setups allow independent leg operation as well as both at the same time. It also doubled the capacity as each leg was rated for 6,000 pounds. Made leveling the front a breeze.

If you need to lower the front to get level, you need to move the truck out of the way. So if you want to leave the truck plugged in and the engine on, you would have to park the truck close enough (if possible at that location) and reconnect the 7-pin.

. . .I went to a dual motor / dual switch landing gear setup last month & could not be any happier with ease of setup & improved speed of motors doing 1/2 less work each. . .GOOD investment & shoud be standard equipment. . .

Could be low voltage.
Volts/amps=watts
so if your motor uses 120 watts that is 10 amps at 12 volts
at 9 volts it would pull over 13 amps so if you have a 10 amp fuse it would blow.
