We are looking at a 2012 Focus Titanium edition. Wondering if anyone else was towing one with the push button start and if they had any issues with them?
I tow a 2012 Focus SEL automatic model - - no problems. The Owner's Manual is pretty specific in what needs to be down to tow. Slightly different instructions for the Titanium due to the push button start and no key needed.

Thanks for the reply. We looked at the 2012 SEl as well but with the equipment we wanted the Titanium was cheaper! I did look at the owners manual and saw there was a slightly different process for the push start but not terribly different. Can you explain to me why the negative battery post needs to be disconnected? I have read various other threads but have not seen a good explanation as to why? Do you disconnect it each time or use a battery switch. Any info greatly appreciated.

I can't really tell you why Ford requires that the negative battery cable be disconnected. I assume that it is a CYA on there part - - since the transmission is electronically operated, once you place the shift lever in neutral and then disconnect the battery there is no way for the transmission to move out of neutral and cause a problem.
I always disconnect the negative battery cable at the grounding post - - since that is readily accessible and the actual negative battery terminal is not. Since I no longer do a lot of towing I didn't opt to add an Off/On switch, but that's certainly an option.
Disconnecting the battery cable does mean that you have to reset the temperature from Celcius to Fahrenheit and reset the auto Up/Down feature of the power windows when you reconnect the battery cable - - but that only takes a couple of minutes. Of course you also loose all your Trip 1 and Trip 2 data as well.
By the way, I opted for the SEL model rather than the Titanium because I didn't want MFT or the sport suspension but did want the Keyless Entry pad which is not available on the Titanium due to the IA system.

Thanks again for the info. We bought it today so I'm hoping it works out. I got rid of a 2010 CRV as it was one of the worst cars I've ever owned. Towed nice but the car itself was a piece of junk. Hoping we have better luck with this one.
