I want to the 4 days dry camping at the run away country concert! best time ever.so I parked the moho tooked up the gen turi. And had it running then a group tent campers set up there tents about 2 or 3 feet from the gen set pipe. as it was running.lol Now they had a noisy generator as well as everyone around us.And ther knocked on by door and asked me if I could shut it off because carbon monoxide was getting it there tent 2 foot away.so want out with a tester and showed them it wasn't coming from my gen set with the gen turi on it.
we could walk around the campgroud and it smelled like carbon monoxide. But I did shut it off to be nice.

X3 plus your diesel generator emits substantially less CO than a gas powered genny.
Our CO monitor has never detected any CO except once when we pulled into a rest area next to a MH running their gasoline generator under load. Gauge jumped from 0 to 23 in the few seconds we had our door open next to the generator's exhaust pipe.
In the boating world their are too many instances of people dying due to running gasoline powered generators while sleeping in low wind conditions.
Never heard of any instances with a diesel generator.

Let's see...
YOU were there first.
THEY set up right next to your generator exhaust, then expected you to shut down your generator for their convenience and safety.
So, YOU get to be inconvenienced due to THEIR stupidity!
Others may disagree, but that's the way I see it!
It was quite nice of you to go along with them.

This happened to me at a 4 day country concert as well. I payed to have my camper there a week ahead of time. When I showed up for the event, the tents had not set up yet. I chained the gen to the tongue of the TT, within hours the tents were setting up right next to it. Keep in mind this was 5500 watt gen that would put a champion to shame I did feel bad for them, but in 100+ degree days and 85+ degree nights, the gen ran a lot.

Just like everything else in this world.
They build a 4 lane around the city to bypass & then they put up stop lights & strip malls to make it no different from going threw town.
They build a big airport, waaay out in the country & then people build big houses next to it & then complain about the noise.
Got the tree huggers, complaining & trying to RUN the world about pollution from lawn mower, chain saws, dirt bikes, cars & trucks AND RVs, but you ever heard of one fussing about NASA sending them rockets up or Air Force One stinking up the air.

We spent last weekend in a campground with tenters as neighbors. The tenters were on the generator side and were a lot noiser than my generator with the genturi on it.
They had a girl scout troup, I think. They ran through people campsites and once I had to ask them to turn the radio down. The generator didn't even drown it out.
I try to be considerate when tenters are around, but it is not always the RV'ers with generators that are the problem.
Inconsiderate people come in all forms of camping.

A couple weeks back we saw a Class C with a Honda generator making not much (but some) noise. OK fine they stayed within the hours of the camp ground etc. However not 3' from the generator was a power pedestal that for $5/day you could consume as much of the 30Amp circuit as you could. Talk about penny wise, pound foolish!
The OP was nice enough to stay quiet. As would I, however if the rules allowed such a thing and I needed the genny for AC or Microwave or whatever *and* I was there first *and* the tenters could have moved further away I think I'd have used my genny anyway. Courtesy goes both ways.
