I am trying to find out at what point, in the fuel tank, does the generator run out of fuel. It is a 1997 Fleetwood Bounder, 34' and is 460 Ford powered.

As designed, the generator should run out of fuel at ΒΌ tank of gas. That does seem to vary some.

Thanks I measured the tank and it appears to be a 90 gallong tank, by 231 cu in to a gallon. It has approximately 30 gallons of fuel, but it will not feed the generator, even with an alternative electric pump. I will assume that it should have pleanty of fuel and there is a problem with the pick up, for the generator, in the tank. Does that sound correct, to you?

A stock fuel tank for that year of motorhome on a F53 chassis with the 460 engine would have been 75 gallons.......unless it was changed out and a custom size made.....

you may have a bad fuel line back at the top of the fuel tank........they rot and split open thus not allowing fuel to travel to the generator under suction.....

Thanks Everybody
I pulled the tank out and found that the factory fitting for the fuel pump pick up line was actually sucking air, past the Oring. I did away with the factory fitting and plumbed the line directly to the tank and it is working fine.
Again, thanks for the responses.
Bruce
