I am taking the kids on a cross country trip in July. We are heading from California to Minneapolis, returning via Rushmore and Yellowstone/Tetons.

What is there to do in Jackson Hole that you guys have found fun and worth the time? We will be leaving from Tetons after a night there.

The Camber of Commerce has the usual stuff, but I can't cipher what is truly good and not (COCs need to make everything sound great, after all, that is their job).

We like the National Museum of Wildlife Art. There's a neat boat ride across a lake in the park itself, followed by a hike up to a spectacular waterfall. Lots of ice cream and candy stores downtown. White water rafting on the Snake River, if that's your thing. Ride the tram to the top of the mountain. Teton Village has lots of kid-friendly stuff - tethered trampolines, rock walls, etc. Take a stage coach ride around the town square.

Neat town . . .

A hike to Jenny Lake is advised, you can even take a power boat across the lake to Cascade Canyon. No swimming, as this lake is VERY COLD.

Let's see, hiking the Tetons was fantastic, we saw a few bears on our trip.

Also, the kids might like the local rodeo - there are lots of kids involved in the action.

Near the Art museum is a fish hatchery where they pump the little critters from one tank to another and they survive!

Absolutely positively, go to Billy's Burgers at the Cadillac Bar and have a burger and some soup of the day. Could share a burger with a bowl of soup each and be content. Possibly the best burger we ever had.

Do a ranger program in the park, go to the park's Visitor Center - lots to see there, take a float trip down the river, horseback ride, hike.

Walk around town like everyone else does, buy overpriced "art" for yourself and rubber tomahawks for the kids.
