I am not ancient, but not a spring chick either. I was debt free and then I chose to take on a few big debts. WHY not go back and finance a bit if you want something in your life to improve it?
To general chat----nothing wrong with some debt on something you want. As long as you can afford the monthly payments easily and as long as you don't get stinked by some kinda monster interest rates.
heck rates are so low right now, if you can get something you want then do it.
nothing wrong with financing at all. if your financal situation can handle it.
Everyone's financial situation is personal. No 2 will ever be alike mostly. So let people handle their own monies as they see fit.
I didn't tell anyone (including you) not to finance or say there is anything wrong with it.

I know. I wasn't arguing I was just stating against your first sentence. Once debt free you won't go back---I did. And might again and again. Just throwing out my side to the statement. again, everyone is so different.

With few exceptions, I believe whatever people post here. Why go to the trouble to post something that isn't true? Doesn't make sense to me.
My son got 'introduced' to Dave Ramsey a few years ago, and I am so proud of him. He's paid off everything but the mortgage and is barely over 30. He's well ahead of where I was at that age.
I said earlier that I have no debt. Absolutely true. I run up big credit card bills every month, but pay them off every month. I get 'points' that I use for restaurant gift cards. I've a stack of them. A while back, VISA offered $300 in 'points' for using their card. I applied for and got two of them. Ha! That's why I'm so far behind on using gift cards up. What a nice freebee!
But the one place I don't use credit cards is . . . restaurants. I use cash (or those gift cards!). Don't like to see my credit card disappear from view for several minutes with someone I don't know.

Jayco-noslide wrote: Posting a topic here that might be interesting or maybe not if it's too personal and people won't care to respond. The question is- How much do you owe on your RV today and about how much is it worth or would you realistically hope to sell it for and how long have you had it? We paid about $10,000 (hard to tell when you traded something in)for our 1999 small 5th wheel in 2002. Now the book value is maybe $2500-$3500.It still serves our needs well and we will keep on with it until we find a replacement too good to pass up.
(Had to quote to follow the questions)
1. financed zero, owe zero.
2. how much is it worth? Dunno.
3. how much would I realistically hope to sell it for? $20K
4. had it since May of 2006, so six years.
5. YOUR trailer - your cost, book value, you will keep on with it, etc. - . . . . . .
Well - attaboy or attagirl..
The best RV or TV - is the one you own now!
Hope that makes you feel gooooooood..
