I am looking for some help. We would like to find some Texas lakes with good catfish and crappie fishing. We would prefer something with fishing docks. Camping is okay but if fishing is good would rather have a cabin with a full size freezer. We were at Lake Bridgeport last year and it was great. Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Cedar MIlls resort has rv parking and cabins, as does Big Mineral Camp, Walnut creek and Cedar Bayou all on the west side of Texoma off 377. If you have TT it is right in the middle of them all. Juniper west has rv camping (COE PARK)and has a small but lively fishing dock.

Check out the Texas State Parks. Each park lists the species of fish available. Most have fishing piers and if you're not in a boat and on a lake you don't need a license.

Don't know of any of our lakes that do not have catfish and crappie in them. Maybe some a little more then others but most all the lakes have pretty good catfish and crappie. Lake Belton in Central TX is one that does come to mind that has some pretty good catfish fishing, Lake Tawakoni is another in North TX. They do have a big Catfishing tournament on Lake Tawakoni every year.

Wright Patman just south of Texarkana is one of the best catfish lakes in Texas, also Lake Palestine west of Tyler is very good.

Thanks for the info. It is hard to find a place that will take pets. They love to camp but sometimes camps dont love them.

Toledo bend lake near Hemphill tx has lots of crappie and catfish.
Most of their parks accept pets. Harborlight marina is where we
have stayed and they have cabins, marina, store and pier.
Also Huxley Bay Marina in Huxley east of Center,Tx has small rv park,
hotel, cafe and marina. Toledo Bend is about the biggest lk in Tx
approx 100 miles long on Tx and La border.
