You might look for used plastic barrels in your area.
Maybe a 30 gallon. Wheels from Harbor freight. Build a wooden frame to hold it. Maybe a garden wagon to put it in. The wagon might be handy for other use

The two-wheel 30 gallon tote along (blue) goes on sale from time to time around $150...
You can get polyethylene chemical drums in all kinds of sizes... they would be fine for grey water. If you decide you'd like to dump a black tank from time to time...it's just not going to work out thru a garden hose unless you spend even more to get a macerator pump.
But for just grey... an inexpensive Harbor Freight 12v transfer pump...a couple of sections of garden hose...and a polyethylene drum would be suitable.
Places like Tractor Supply Company...and many other Agri type stores sell call kinds of vessels for farm use.
ON Sale $148.03
They have another brand 25 gal tank for $117...
It's too bad they upped the threshold on FREE SHIPPING...it used to be $150 instead of $200
The 30gal two wheel model has a square tube handle extension...which makes constructing a bracket for transporting very easy.

Have you been watching Craigslist? I have purchased multiple new Barker tanks for under $100. Might be close in price to building your own with far less hassle.

Unfortunately we live far enough away from bigger cities (or fortunately depending on how you look at it..) that Craigslist is not as useful as it is in bigger cities (the cost in gas/time to buy/look at an item is usually prohibitive)

I bought a 25 gallon tote for $125 up in Canada. Surely you can find a similar or better deal down there. Building one sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

I found a surplus (used for soap) 30-gallon plastic drum for $5. Bought a 12v marine pump from Harbor Freight (since upgraded to one from Northern Tool.) Some old garden hose and fittings, ball valve, hose bib, and a sewer cap w/ garden hose nipple and I have my cheap gray water transporter. To keep the barrel from rolling around I ised a cut-down inverted wood pallet and set the barrel between the skids.

No pump on the fresh water - it's gravity fill to the trailer.

Since I only have a sink to worry about, and a 20 gallon fresh water tank to boot, I'm trying to acquire a couple of once-used 15 gallon food-grade barrels from a source here in the Denver area (similar to mbopp's pics linked to above). One will be dedicated for grey water, one for fresh water. The source sells them for $20 each and include a carry handle and 2" screw-in bung cap (same as on the 55 gallon drums). Sorry, I'm not disclosing the source until I have mine since they are in pretty high demand (they sell out pretty fast). They advertise that some of the original food contents (usually syrup) are left in the container to proove that it only held food previously.
