After 2 miserable boxer experiences, we've found our heart dog - Maddie Mae! We got her 3 weeks ago from the same rescue that we got Potsie from and she's such a joy. She's a westie/poodle mix (we think!) and was rescued by the rescue on her absolue LAST day. The rescue was told to come get her, or she was going to be euthanized ASAP. Michelle, the director of the rescue, went and got her, and Maddie proceeded to birth puppies the next morning at her house!! Holy moley!! Michelle named her Madonna (mother), which we've shortened to Maddie (calling her Maddie Mae - it just seems right!). We adopted Maddie Mae after her puppies had all been adopted, and she's fit right in. She's a westie mix - maybe a westie/poodle, around 3-4 years old.
Maddie has one westie ear (sicks up when alert) and one poodle ear (a drop ear like a poodle) - so funny! Her tail is also a mix - the base of the tail is curly like a poodle, but then has absolutely stick straight hair like a westie about an inch or so further out. Her coat is white like a westie's, but has soft curls. She has the personality of a westie, and she ADORES chasing the squirrels in our yard, and also seeing if she can POSSIBLY find a way out of our privacy fence - luckily, she's failed in this attempt! She's already crate trained and will go in upon command - awesome!!
She and Potsie are getting along famously, which we're so happy about!
