I have looked at used lots of apps with compasses and spirit levels to level and orient my surveyor's(TV4RV.com) tripod before setting my satellite dish. An app called Easy Tools has a compass with BIG azimuth numbers and levels on the same screen. I just lay my phone down on top of my tripod and rotate to the right azimuth and then adjust the legs to level. Done.

Easy Tools also has a suite of other useful gizmos.

When I compared my spirit level to my wifes phone, I found her phone wasn't as sensitive and could be fairly out of level without indicating it.
