We are novice birders and would like ideas on where to 'snowbird' next winter. Any hot spots you could share. We spent a week in Southeast Texas last month and that was awesome

The Texas coast & the world birding Centers of the Rio Grande Valley. You could try any of the parks on Bentsen Palm Drive in Mission. 2 border the World Birding Center at Bentsen Rio Grande State Park & offer free passes. Lots of bike trails here too. There are several others within a few miles. If this area interests you we stay in this area & I can give more park info, just give some specifics as to amenities & price range you desire.

Goose Island state park in Rockport is great, they have a active program with actual birding leader volunteers. There was at least 2 walks and 2 other programs each week.

Here you go - 10 years in a row. Stay for the spring migration.

Wonderful. Thanks so much Crabman and all. Sothwest Texas it is. Now to convince the better half. We have holiday plans - grandchildren are coming - so getting out of Dodge in Jan and that might be tricky with the weather.

Your right Southeast although I understand Big Bend State Park has some active birding spots.
