Calvin's cap came in so he has an appointment with the dentist tomorrow morning to get his new Gangsta smile, and both he and his sister will finally be able to play ball again.
I took him in to the Vet, and he doesn't have any parasites/worms. But the Vet put him on an anti-biotic, as well as Metronnidazole to get him back on track again which seems to be working.
As far as Harlee, well, she's having one problem after the another. It's getting difficult trying to keep up. However, at this time in her life my main goal is to keep her as comfortable as I can. Her Doc put her back on Metronidazole and an anti-biotic, to help her with her poop, as well as two spray medications to help her with the two infections she has on her front paw. Which I'm also soaking in Epson Salt twice a day.
She's also back on Sucralfate to help her eat. I'm having to feed her boiled chicken breast by hand or she won't eat, and she threw up her half a Jumbone this morning while I gave the boy his medicated shampoo bath to help him with his allergies!
I'm gonna order some Pet Tabs for her, but right now I don't wana keep introducing new stuff to her system because it seems when I do, her runns come back, so ....... we'll see!
One this good though is Harlee is holding her weight at 74lbs! But I'll be talking to her Doc to see if we can increase her Previcox, because she's having a very difficult time walking (this imo is in combination with her paw and arthritis) and is getting hard to watch, which i'm also having to (most times) carry her out of the Eagle. Tramadol does nothing for her, which imo is a bummer!
Here's a photo I took of the two trouble makers a few days ago!
Oh, and Calvin's three year anniversary is just around the corner on July 7th and Harlee's fifth anniversay is only a few months away as well, in September!
Seems like you have your hands full. I remember carrying Champ up and down the steps to get him outside for potty breaks - yep, I've been there! But you are doing a great job and I'm happy to read that Harlee has not lost anymore weight. Hopefully the pups will turn the corner with their ailments and begin to feel better soon. The Pet-tabs worked for Champ - he was on them for years - and didn't seem to have any affect on his digestive system. All of you are in my thoughts, and prayers too. Thanks for the update and remember - you have friends on this forum who are there for you and your furry gang.
I'm glad to have an update too, I was wondering how the pups were doing.
Looks like Harlee enjoys a good magazine now and then, I hope you help with turning the pages lol!!! Keep up the good work, these little pups are lucky to have such a nice daddy!!
Thanks! Calvin's got his new cap installed and is doing great, especially since they can play ball again!
We'll see Harlee's Doc next week Wednesday to talk about a few things, as well as the possibiltiy to have an ultra sound done so I'll know what I'm dealing with in regards to her eating and such.
