Can a user move his own posting from one forum to another or does one of our moderators need to do that?

You could make a duplicate post and delete the first or just ask a kindly moderator.

Members cannot move posts from one sub-forum to another.

If you think you have posted in a wrong forum, please do not make the same post in another forum. Instead, you can request that the original be moved. Requests can be made by clicking on the Notify Moderator link in the upper-right portion of every post or by sending the moderator (of the "wrong") forum a private message.
