We always try to be thoughtful of our fellow campers when we are drydocking, but we are coffee drinkers and when we want to start up the generator to fix coffee, it's pretty early in the morning. How early do you get your coffee going in the morning as a rule? Should we be cooking at 6:00, 7:00, or 8:00? Thanks!

If boondocking and no 'quiet hour' times, fire it up when you want, but you might want to offer a cup of coffee to your neighbor if it's really early.

If you are using the MW to heat up the water, it's only for a few minutes so if you shut it back down again, should be no worries..

Or, brew up that coffee with an old percolator?? We used to do that awhile ago and it makes for a nice cup of coffee once you figure out your percolator..

For that short a load time and wattage, do you have enough juice left in the batteries to run the converter?

Of course when boondocking we crank up genny whenever, but drycamping with neighbors, we use Coleman percolator if we want coffee earlier than 9:00am. As it pertains to genny use when camping in a campground, we strictly adhere to whatever rules are in place for generator usage.

8am.. or make it the night before and reheat. Or use a big inverter.

We have the built in 110v drip 10 cup coffee pot but when dry docking we heat water on the stove top and use our French press. Most campgrounds we've stayed have had posted restrictions on generator use and usually that has been 8 AM which is usually a little later than we like for coffee. If you are in a Walmart parking don't worry about it. You might be parked next to an over the road semi running his diesel engine anyway.

5am is no problem with a second house battery and a larger inverter.

What good would that do? I'm sure you meant Inverter right? Converter=120V to 12V, Inverter=12V to 120V. Keep em straight man....
