I'm hoping this will be THE beach campground for us. We're hoping to leave the trailer there and come the following two weekends. They only charge $45 for a month of storage, that is a deal. We've been to Pirateland, Lakewood, and stayed in a house several years back at Ocean Lakes. Just came back from our second visit to HTP Emerald Isle. So far, HTP is the nicest, although smallest with least amount of amenities for the kids. I don't count $9 go cart rides as an amenity. MBTP has a fishing pond, a huge pool, and a lazy river. I also like the MBTP is at the northern end of MB.

That's great...we just got back from HTP yesterday as well. We love it at HTP but can be very pricey, and we are thinking about going to MBTP at the end of July. We have heard great things about MTBP but never been there.
I thought they had a 6 night minimum in the summer?
Wow, that storage rate is awesome...less than what we pay in Raleigh! Do you know if the storage area is secured/gated?
That I don't know, but I will find out. It's $5 less than what I pay in Apex at the cheapest lot I could find. HTP just adds on a bunch of charges, $5 @ night for the dog, $2 or so a night for cable, and no one could tell us how much wi-fi was. So it's about $90 a night period. The other part for us is the drive. I usually leave work an hour early at 5pm on Fridays when we're camping and don't want to get there at dark.
The earliest you can book a weekend at MBTP is 14 days prior.
Have fun. We arrive on the 15th at OL. Our camper is stored there now, but we will be taking it with us. We will leave on the 20th and will head to Wilmington and stay at the KOA there a couple nights. Then we hope to hit campgrounds closer to us for the rest of the year. We are really missing Stone Mountain State Park!
We have been going to the Travel Park since the 1970's. In those days we paid $4.50 for an oceanfront site with hookups. It is still our favorite at MB.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

Daddy Joe's in Tarbor City charges $1.00/day. I have left mine there and went back. Saved about $50 in gas. There's is fenced and locked at the back of the campground. I have picked it up from there and gone on to OL.
^ Now that's another idea. That's stupid cheap and 30 minutes or so from MBTP. I just want to leave it where I'll come back so I can drive our Fusion for one weekend and quadruple my MPG. The Burb gets 9-10 towing, 18-19 without. So I'll at least double my Burb mileage when driving it home, then back down on the 3rd weekend.
Stclairm...by leaving our TT at OL this last few months, we've been able to drive our little yards that gets 37mpg.. Our truck gets 11-12 not pulling and about 8-9 pulling. It sure did make a difference.
