Well I have moved up from Tacky, I just put my ladder in a storage compartment! Wife said she likes me now. I had a chair rack on back and bungee chords no problems. Been there four years no thefts and no intruders on the roof, yes it was a cheap ladder no one would want. If someone climbs up on the roof now I guess I will put it back .

rv2go has the right idea IMHO. You see a lot of them on rigs traveling south every year.

Your wife has class.
A $200,000.00 full body paint, chrome wheels and a $45 orange ladder hanging off the rear end. Yuck.

I also think that anything hanging off the back of an RV makes them look like Sanford and Son going down the road. If you have a pass thru bay, this works great for holding this ladder.

I mounted the sewer tube high on the back wall of the pass thru bay and then just slide the ladder inside. This works great because it keeps the ladder up and out of the way and easily accessible when you need it.

I carry my 6' step ladder in the rear cargo compartment, out of sight, out of mine.

We have one of the inexpensive Camping World holders rv2go mentioned and it works great. I bungie the ladder to the RV ladder for extra security. The ladder is aluminum and blends in with the chrome ladder.
We also have a hitch mount bike rack with 2 bicycles on the back that is a lot more noticeable than the ladder and no one has ever made comments that bicycles on the back look bad.
We don't think it looks bad, just functional.

I've often wondered what the average person thinks when they see a ladder strapped to a ladder.

We put the bikes on a rack on the back of the toad, just for that very reason. I don't like anything on the back of the RV.

Many years ago, before I purchased my first RV, I remember seeing this and scratching my head then. Even before I searched to see what the options were I just knew there had to be something I could hide away. We bought the ladder that folds down to about 4 inches square, have been using it several times a week for years and it still works perfectly.
