When mine sits for a while the fuel in the hose will discolor. I just remove the fuel cap and run some back into the tank them fill the buggie.

I don't understand, for a couple cents worth of gas, why would you send the contaminates back into the tank? If you don't think they could cause damage why not just put them in your toy?? Inquiring minds would like to know...

It is normal and I do it every month to keep the gears in the pump from going bad. If the ride doesnt need fuel I'm not gonna fill cans. Hasn't caused a problem in over 8 yrs so I'm not worried. I also use Stabil every fill.

Try this, fill a can and let it sit for some time and check the color. You will find it darker than fresh fuel.

Ya we do the same thing. The fuels tanks are steel. When we do the first pump after sitting for a while it comes out darker and actually looks like rust is mixed in. Not sure what it is and that's why we prime the fuel hose first.

My tank is abs or something. Not steel and the dark coloring is partly the hose and age of the fuel.

It is just discolored. There is nothing wrong with the fuel.
