We just bought a 2012 cougar 324rlb. After buying it we found out our 3/4 ton ford super duty would not be enough to pull it. So we bought a 2008 diesel ford power stroke 6.4. We haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Hope it does the job. Any feed back would help.

Was the SD a F250 gaser??
That rig will close or just over on GVWR, but you should be safe on axle ratings.
Is the new rig a F350? DRW or SRW?
Nice new 5er!!

thagfo: Thanks for the feed back. It's a F350 power stroke,6.4 4x4 2008 SRW to pull the cougar 324rlb. it is a beautiful 5er! We love it. This is our first 5er. We always had travel trailers before & nothing this big. this is our last & final camper. The perfect floor plan. Really nice.
That truck should not have a problem with that rig at all! Do yourself a favor and go over to FTE site and read up about the 6.4s. Follow the severe duty maintenance schedule, use only Motorcraft filters, and replace the coolant cap frequently with wither Motorcraft or Stant and you should be fine. Also, look into an Edge Insight CTS to monitor your trucks vitals with. Your new truck shouldn't break a sweat with your rig. Here's to happy camping!!!
Thank you nremtp143: this is the first diesel truck we've owened. I do worry about the maintenance on them. Not use to such a big engine. Will do as you said. Not trying to sound too stupid, what does FTE site stand for? This is all new to me. My husband may know but I'm learnig as I go.
