The first of the year we are going to trade in our truck and fifth wheel for a class A. We have a harness for our sheltie and the short strap that the seat belt will go through the loop and keep her safe in the back seat of our dually.

How do you keep your dog safe in your Class A ?

Class A's should have a set of seat belts for each passenger area. You can use your harness there. Lots of folks use a secured dog crate to transport their pet, too.

We use seat belt harnesses. Not counting the driver's and front passenger's seat, there are eight other seat belts in our RV (three on the couch, four at the dinette, one at the chair behind the front passenger's seat).

Our dogs are crate-trained. So we buckle their crates on the sofa, and they ride happily there, with a fair amount of protection.

I'll just add one more important 'What If'

When you are in an accident and hurt the first thing the EMT is going to do is OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR MH to assist you.......and out into traffic goes your frightened pet.

I have seen more than I care to where the people and dogs survive the crash only to have the dog be killed on the highway when the EMT opens the door.

My huskie is crate trained. Her crate fits under the dinnet table. She rides there. Can't use the dinnet, but oh well. It is just me and her and that is her den.

wow, never thought about this situation. I dont wear a seatbelt and never will. Some say they save lives, others say they kill. Our dogs lay on my wifes lap or in between the seats.

Your dog, we had 2 that are gone now from old age, or the family cat , of which we have at present, will find a spot...comfortable to THEM where they can brace themselves so that they dont shift around. Might be in a side chair....or under the sofa....or ??
