The new-to-us camper came home Friday night; dealer had prepped it for camping. What could we do but head to a nearby spot Saturday night?
Still need to get the front tie-down brackets but the camper traveled the 60 km home real well without them so off we went. The road into this campground is 15 km (10 miles) of gravel and typical of many of the routes we wish to explore.
All went well!
Everything worked.
Have figured out where we want to hang some coathooks, hat racks, paper towel holder.
Plus add some shelving and magazine racks.
Have some space for some extra shelving too.
Will add airbags to the truck too ... it does well without actually, but DH thinks it would be a good thing. He's wanted them for the fifth wheel too, so guess we'll get that done now.
Space is tighter than in the fifth wheel, but this rig will go where the fifth wheel can't! Looking forward to heading down more dirt trails and setting up in the depths of the wilderness!
The smaller dog can jump to the upper bunk, the other needs a little help but she might get it sorted out.

Congrats on the new camper. I know you guys well have fun with it.
One thing is be very very careful on those steps down. They are very easy to take a spill on especially without something to hang onto. There have been some on here that have gotten injured coming down them.

We're debating options for changing the steps. DH is thinking he'll build a small "basement" storage under the back overhang and we're scheming how to incorporate steps into that.
Before you add airbags check out the Torklift stable loads. There are two different versions depending on your truck. I also run the Torklift steps and hand rail. Congrats on the new setup.
