Back in HS, my geography teacher gave us a test the first day of class. We were given a map of the US and were to label ALL 50 STATES. She said if we got it right, we wouldn't have to do the first section.
I was the ONLY one who got all 50. I don't think she expected ANYONE to get them all. So I got to read my scifi novels during that first section.
Note, my family camped quite a bit, so I knew a bunch of them by just where we'd camped over the years (or driven through to get to camping spots). The last two that I could not figure out were Vermont and New Hampshire. I'd never been there and I didn't know which was which. So I guessed the one shaped like a "V" was Vermont, and the rest is history...
