Sorry to hear about your loss.

Don't know what to say to bring you back to a healthy feeling to get on with your life. I do think you would not have wished your wife to waste away her final years sitting at home, and I sure hope that you do not find yourself taking pity on yourself and wasting away your final years too.

I know it is difficult at this time, but remember your good times, and pick yourself up. At least you did not put your wife through all this trouble getting back on her feet with less strength would have been difficult on her.

My mom died when I was only 10, and my dad died of cancer too when I was just 18. I always thought that it was unfair that my mom went first, and that dad had to raise the kids on his own. But later thought how difficult it would have been on mom to raise us alone, and dad was able to design sonar systems, work at a desk, and earn good money, so he was the one who had to raise us during his final years of his life.

So thank you for not going first, it makes it easier on your wife.

And hopefully you can stick around to see the grandkids and great grandkids, then tell the wife all about it sometime!

Fred.

I too lost my wife this past April, but I did do a trip about 2 months afterwards to visit relatives in both TX and OR that we were planing to visit this summer. Yes it was hard to do with just the fur kid and myself, but I think my wife would want us (the fur kid and myself) to keep on doing the things that made us happy.
Sorry for your lost.
