We are looking for a RV resort around the Sarasota FL. area for next winter. Any suggestions?
Also. . . has anyone heard about Sarasota Bay Rv Park on Cortez Rd. in Bradenton, FL.
We are in a 38' Newmar Kountry Aire/slide with no toad.
Thanks

Try Pleasant Lake Resort at exit 41, Bradenton, Fl. You will love it. Its small and very friendly. Look it up in Woodalls book.

Sun and Fun is nice also. Also, the Encore parks are nice. Plasant Lake is nice and you can go down the road on Fridays and have a great fish fry for a very reasonable price.

Fred,

I checked out the Sarasota RV park on Cortez. It is mostly a "resident park" or snowbirds who leave their "trailer's" there all year. The spots designated for winter vistors are two rows backed up against the highway. I did not find it to be a very visually appealing place and the noise from Cortez is constant. It is warm and close to the Beach.

Sun and Fun is by Far the most "Fun" park in the area. Everything to do there under the sun. Even has a resturant on the premises and excercise equipment in the pool. I found it to be rather on the expensive side.

Pleasant Lake is nice too. but very few trees.

I have packed up all my local park info or I would be of more help. I can recall what the parks were like, just not all their names. I'm headed out to Encore on Kay Road in Bradenton. It had the best price, very nice facilities, I got a great site, and I like the staff. You do have to put up with some interstate noise (depending on which way the wind is blowing and where you are located in the park) but I think my "fountain" is going to take care of that.

If you want a place right on the beach Gulfbeach Campground is the place to be it is expensive like all places on the beach and your rig will get a lot of salt air within a couple hundred yards to a few feet from the beach. It just has a bath and direct access to the beach and no other ammenties. It also has some size limitations. We have stayed at Sun and Fun (nice place) but not the Encore park.
