Gene and I began the camping experience as newly-weds in 1959. We were kids (19 and 17) and did a lot of weekend/vacation camping at Oklahoma lakes along with my parents and younger brothers. Since then we have owned tents, shell campers, overhead campers, five m/h's, and three fivers. I think we've tried all possible camping conveyances. Gene has retired, but I am still working full-time, so we are still limited to vacation time. We continue to spend weekends at Oklahoma lakes and visit Arkansas/Missouri lakes at least once each year. Gene, our son and grandson enjoy fly fishing, so Colorado is a definite destination each September. We join friends each fall in Colorado and have dubbed our group as the "Oklahoma Gang." Most are retired and are avid campers/fishermen. Life has been very good to all of us--not wealthy as far as the financial aspect, but wealthy in great children and wonderful friends/camping buddies.
