More about popscolly

We sold a 30 ft. Hunter yacht and bought a 30 ft. travel trailer. Being land bound is difficult for me, but mamas happy and when mamas happy . . . The cost of owning a yacht vs. a TT is about the same. We paid slip rent and now we must pay storage lot rent. When we went out on the boat we had to deal with hook ups and pump out. Also, there was slip rent for overnighting at a marina. On top of it all, with the yacht when compared to the TT, we're always repairing or upgrading something. This is why I call our rig Ship on Wheels and consider myself a trailer sailor. So, I know we can make Key West by land as easily as by water and when the bridge to the Bahamas is finished we can go their too.

I am a Christian minister who is now disabled due to a heart condition and complications thereof. The DW is a Branch Administrator for Edward Jones (investment representative). We have a beautiful home on the south west edge of Lake Norman which is just north of Charlotte. We moved here two years ago from the coastal region of North Carolina. All the kids are grown with families of their own now. Two of the kids live nearby and the others are within a few hours. They are all California transplants while I'm a native of NC--I cope the best I can. The true joy of our family is fifteen grandkids.

I was a long haul trucker before going back to school to get a college degree. I find that draggin' a wagon is draggin' a wagon no matter what size it is. I'm very amused at the newbies that talk about their trials and tribulations backing a rig into a camp site. I would like to be out their teaching new TT rig drivers the little tricks I know. I've backed into places that would give most folks the willies. Maybe we will back into a camp site beside one another some day.
