RE: crossfire

I have been using them for four years. Won't have a rig without them.

RE: Installing a sky light. Good idea?

We have a three by three foot skylite in the bedroom with a day night shade over it. We love it. Just wish it were made of clear plastic instead of frosted.

RE: A new FMCA blog entry (update 11/23)

Hmmmmm,. . . . . I think the 'jury is still out' on this one Gramps. (i.e., sure hope it picks up and improves, or Gramps will have a short time as an aspiring writer. we'll see. . . . .) Well, input is good! Even if it is negative. Hopefully you will come to enjoy my story. Lets find out. Chapter two is up. Chapter 2

RE: PLEASE TELL ME WHY I SHOULD JOIN FMCA?

Out of all the things we have joined being a FMCA member is the best. I may be a bit prejudiced because I am quite active on the FMCA web site, but in reality it is a good organization to be a part of. The magazine is worth having, the rallies both national and regional are fun and informative. One of the things we like best is the chapter campouts. My wife and I belong to the Colonial Virginians local chapter. They have at least 30 coaches show up at each month's group campout. We will be having a big Christmas gathering and party at Beth Page next month and we will be working with the Toys for Tots program. Being part of an organized Coach community is just a good thing.

RE: Class A or Fifth Wheel

It was moslty about the tax benefits for us when we first bought an RV. You can't write-off the interest on a truck loan. Also A's are just easier to set up and break down camp. Our friends that have moved "up" from a fiver to an A have said they would never go back to pulling again.

RE: Televison Fell out

We have some friends who own an 06 Bounder Diesel. It had a 27 inch crt in the overhead up front. While going down the road the whole left side of the cabinets and the television enclosure unattached itself from the roof and dropped down about six inches. It is a wonder it didn't fall all the way and do all kinds of damage. They have since repaired it and replaced the crt with an LCD.

RE: Video, Most expensive Motor home in the World.

That was a very old video. I am pretty sure it has been on the web for over two years if not more.

RE: Work Horse Chassis...real world experiance Question.

In response to the OP. Having owned an 04 Bounder 36 ft motorhome on a W-22 chassis I can say that there were a number of concerns that I had over time. We put 25,000 miles on it in just over 3.4 years The concerns were: 1 A terrific amount of tail swing. 2 The coach bounced badly, due to the OEM Monroe shocks. They were replaced with Bilsteins by the next owner.(If I had kept it I would have installed Konis.) 3. I had one minor but scary brake episode that required the replacement of an ABS sensor. Other than that, it was a pretty good rig for our first one. However I sure like my UFO chassis a lot more than the W-22. I wish I had more time to put more miles on it!
