Opinion?? Yes. While it is ok to be somewhat concerned about being clean, I think way too many people over think the situation and become paranoid. Some pass this along to their children and that I don't think is good. Kids need to be exposed to germs. That helps them build a good immune system. If your really worried about the spigot, pour a little water with bleach in it over it before using it. For me I might turn the faucet on and run a little water before using it. Also consider this. In a recent study they found that the kitchen is way dirtier and has more germs than the average toilet seat. :B
X2, we as a country have gotten so paranoid over germs and using antiseptic that we are making ourselves immune to their use? You stated that you saw the possibility for cross contamination? Just don't do those things?
