RE: General TOAD Question

Now do you want to pick out the vehicle first or decide which method to use? You have access to the towing guides from several place. This will show you which vehicles are flat towable with the least work/modification. I think REMCO will have the guides back several years. Watch for distance and speed restrictions.

RE: Advice From Full Time RVrs

WHen we are headed down the road and after lunch say let us stop in such and such town we then check to find a park. We then call them and make a reservation. We know we will make it and it may only be 30 minutes after the call. Saves time if per chance some big event is going on and the parks are full in that town. We ask advice for down the road and roll on.

RE: How long should 2 20lb ers last?

1 gallon of Propane ~= 4.23 lbs ~= 91500 Btus
1 lbs of Propane ~=22000 Btus
20 lb tank of propane holds approx 4 gallons of propane (approx 366000 BTUs)
Now all you have to do is determine what each item uses and add it up then you know.
Hope this helps/

RE: Poison ivy woes

I have been very sensitive to PI for over 60 years. 20 years ago I took shots to prevent it. Then that med. was removed from use. I then suffered during every month of the year and that was while living in Kansas. We have been exposed from campfires, Field fires like when the farmers burn off fields in AR or the ranchers burning grass prairies in the Kansas Flint Hills. The fires burn through the fence lines where the PI grows. I then was advised by my Dr. to take a liquid from a compounding pharmecy. It is called Rhus Tox and is taken from feb. till oct every month. It worked for me quite well.
I also found out if I pulled Virginia Creeper off our fence bare handed I would break out and need steroid shots.
Poison Ivy grows wild and broadly West of the Mississippi.
Leaves of 3 leave them be.

RE: WInter in So. Cal.

If you do not need or want to stay in that area and state, you might look at Quartzsite AZ. They have several nice rv parks with full hookups and lots of similar minded folks.

RE: Quartz

We enjoy going to Q. We tell folks it is to RVrs as Sturgis is to bikers. A must do. You could contact Rice Ranch in advance to be sure of a spot and you would be withing walking distance of Tyson's Well shopping and the big tent events. Part of the answer depends on how long you want to stay and what other interests you might have ie off roading, gold mining etc. For more that a few dys or a week I would say one of the parks along 95 to the north of I-10 would be better. Be ready for lots of people, traffic AND going to dinner about 4:30 -5 as the resurants close early and you do want to be in line.

RE: My Dakota Address

We have used them them since July of 2010. The only issues we have had is when we were not clear about when the change of address was to take place. We always get our mail when and where we ask for it to be sent. We have recomended MyDakotaAddress.com to many out here on the road. I would suggest calling and discusing this with Terri.

RE: Hate fighting the CATV connectors, will these work?

I have used these for the inside for some time now. For the cable connection at the post you might add in a 90 degree connector to allow the coax to drop straight down thus removing a lot of the side load from the springy part.

RE: Boondocking In Quartzite, AZ

IT is a fun attmosphere but to say it is a party day and night is a reaaaaal sreeeetch. To eat in a local cafe you need to be there by 4:30/5 to get in as they all close early and the lines can be long then it is pertty much all in the rigs after dark. Some of the reason is it does cool off at night so sitting outside is for the more hardy and if you have been shopping all day rest is nice.
