RE: JT's Elephant Foot Jack Pads

Even with hard ground or with blocks under the pad the cheap stamped stock landing gear feet will flaten and curl. Added these 4 years ago and the are awesome

RE: Ragen pin box issues

I have a 06 ragen 3405 and when the trailer is hooked up to the truck I can see a small gap between the nightstands and the front wall. When the trailer is not hooked up there is no gap. I dont see any reason to tear into yet. Other than that we love the trailer.
That's the first sign and not so bad actually as some flexing is normal in all 5ers. It's when a gap starts showing on the outside where the side walls meet the front cap when you are hooked up that it becomes more serious. Towing in the rain results in water intrusion and rot. Keep an eye on it.

RE: Ragen pin box issues

Good... cause I just bought it... Not kidding. That was the rig I was referring to in my earlier post. Should be fun!! Picking it up this weekend.
Good to talk to you, go get that Rage'n and lets hit the desert soon. You will love it and I have a list of Mod's as long as my arm that will keep you in projects for years!
BTW... as far as I know 2003-2006 were the years that Rage'n had the pinbox problem (pre one piece cap)and I never heard of it in a 3405 only the 3005

RE: Costco vs Sams Club 6V Golf Cart Batteries

Anyone using these batteries for their rigs? It's Costco ... tons you have to be using these things.
I have 4 of the old style red top white case Costco 6v batteries in my rig since summer 2008. Just hydrometer tested 2 weeks ago all cells are test out at 12.70-12.75 and I dry camo 95%. The key to ANY battery life is proper watering. My Trojans laster 2 years because I didn't keep proper water level and I am sure I would still be running the T-105's had I maintained them properly.

6v GC Battery Post Extenders

I am looking to find these adapters for 6v threaded battery posts. Saw these on a friends pusher where they added the inverter cables to the bank of batteries. They almost resemble a GM side post extenders but smaller and female & male threaded
RV supply, Battery shops all scratch their heads and shrug shoulders.

RE: Fuel Station Nozzle and Hose Help

How is that nozzle different than the stocker on our Rage'n? Looks the same, does the longer hose fit inside the same compartment?
The weight is a little more on the new nozzel but the plunger and lever are worlds better on the JME nozzel. Getting a dribble to top off a tank with the stocker was impossible, this nozzel gives you that ability without overfilling. Nice and smooth.
Yes, longer hose fits in and the elbow makes it even easier to sow.
Honestly I use the length all the time. I can row up 3-4 quads and fill them all without moving any of them. Another advantage to the longer hose is that when I add stabil to the tank I can recirculate the gas our the pump and back into the fill neck on the other side of the rig... sweet
good points both. It is a PITA to roll a bike or quad in one at a time to use the filling station. Does the nozzle mitt fit the JME nozzle? I have both covers on mine and it sure works well to keep them clean, amazing how much crud gets kicked up into that compartment with the mesh bottom, been tempted to put a piece of sheet metal in the bottom with one or two large holes for drainage/ventilation, should keep it cleaner.
I use the nozzle condom not the mitt so couldnt tell ya.

RE: Fuel Station Nozzle and Hose Help

I had the same problem 6 years ago so I upgraded:
The 14' Hose allows me to fill from either side of the Toy Hauler, the Nozzel is quality, cast lever rather than stamped and plunger has never leaked or gotten stuck open like the stock one did.
The Swivel is the icing on the cake. I kind of regreted spending more on the swivel than the nozzel before I installed and used it; now I would never be without one again. Just like at the gas station, no pressure on the toy tank or hose. Folds up nicely for storage as well.
I have nozzle envy.
and I have sausage envy... so what does that mean?

RE: 10/11/12

Riding the Dunes at Winnemucca!
How good are the dunes at Winnemucca? How big and how many days do you normally stay?
Dunes are awesome! Very fast and technical from 30-50' tall not for beginners with fast steep transitions by the seat of your pants. Like riding a roller coaster. About 50 sq miles of dunes and desert. We usually stay 4-5 days.
Time to launch!

RE: Which american 16" LT tires?

Well this past weekend I went camping 4 days. Upon returning home about 35 miles from home one of my 7 yr old G614's blew. Did quite a bit of damage to the hauler. Subfloor, wiring to the slide, removed the fender and black marks 2' up the side of the trailer.
Have checked and there's only one other choice for G's in this size and it's a Chinese. A commercial tire dealer in town has told me he has not had many issues with those. G614's are still in production and available. This commercial dealer beat Discount's price about $150 total. $1616 out the door for 4 of the Good Years. I may give the Chinese a try. Not sure yet. It's about a $700 savings.
My g614's blew after 6 years even after a complete visual inspection (inside and out) just 3 months prior.
No tire will last forever no matter how good the tread looks or the internal/external casing and regardless if you cover them. Replacing them before they blow is the key. 4-5 years regardless of milage is key and what I will follow with my R250's. The damage caused by a blowout is far greater than proactivly replacing the tires. For me my damage was $2000 and the new tires were $1000... it's a no brainer.
