RE: Question for 2012 Phaeton owners only

OP, have you posted your problem on the TiffinRVNetwork? I bet you will get a lot more & better help there. I post Tiffin-specific questions there all the time - it's worth my time to do so.

RE: Which is the best Auxiliary Brake System

There is an excellent sticky write-up on the towing section of this forum on the various systems. Happy Traveling.

RE: ShurFlo pump

I just ordered a kit for my Extreme 5.7 from West Marine in Nashville - p/n 94-030-01, $52.99 + shipping. You can get their number from their website. I saw the complete pump at a couple of websites (PPL I think) for about $230. Good luck.

RE: Deteriorating Ultraleather Seats

I don't have a dog in this fight, er, argument, but it sure seems strange to me that Flexsteel would risk its reputation as the standard for quality furniture in the RV industry by allowing their products to use sub-standard materials.
And why would Ultraleather allow an associate or competitor to use the Ultraleather name and trademark with a sub-standard product without a fight?
Makes no sense to me. I guess we don't have all of the picture.

RE: Gasoline added to fresh water tank :(

If it were me, I would like to know exactly what is in the tank. Have it analyzed.
We don't buy or drink bottled water. Where you guys think that bottled stuff comes from? Heaven? It comes from a tap, just like most campground water. Seems like a waste of money to me.

RE: self leveling stabilizer jacks

OP, why don't you consult your trailer's manufacturer and do what they reccommend? That is what I would do.

DIY slideout storage trays

I recently saw a thread about slideout trays for the basement, but can't find it now. A poster in that thread mentioned cam followers would work. I have used that term in searches but no success. Can someone please help?

Motorhome brands with ducted a/c

Which manufacturers make or have made (within last 6 years) a coach with ducted a/c? Or do you find that only in the more expensive brands/makes? Our a/c is so noisy and not very well distributed, we are thinking if we were to upgrade, ducted a/c would be a must have. But who makes one?

I am just a newbie DP driver too, but I think The Texan gave a pretty good summary of what to expect.

RE: Smoke coming from rear tires - Newbie Help Requested

With your tires having been run 20# under recommended pressure, I would definitely have them dismounted and examined by a qualified truck tire technician. Even then, you may have damage that can't be seen with the naked eye. I might opt for a new set of tires all around.

RE: Where to camp in 35' class A

We use www.rvparkreviews.com to find rv parks where we want to stop. Determine your route, break into segments, then use rvparkreviews.com to locate parks/campgrounds at the end of each segment. Most parks on that website will have a link to their website which will give you specifics on that park. Happy traveling.

RE: How difficult to chANGE THE ENGINE BATTERY??

The Interstate store here in my area would not swap out batteries in a motorhome. Don't know about others. It seems like a simple task. Except for having a bad back, I would have done my own battery swap. Good luck.

Have you tried replacing the batteries in the sensors that are not reporting? I recently received two sensors with weak batteries.

RE: Country Coach or Tiffin Phaeton

I just spent three days in Red Bay talking to owners of Tiffin coaches. Two of them were there having warranty work on Tiffin's dime. One was a '08 having the wet bay floor replaced. The other was a '07 - I forget what work was being done. The point is Tiffin fixes problems well after the "official" warranty has expired. I am betting that most of the bugs of the '08 Tiffin have been worked out. If you search this forum for Tiffin, you will find others telling of their Tiffin experiences.
Is the chassis a Freightliner?
BTW, we love our Phaeton!

RE: Fresh water stinks

If I am storing my RV for a long period of time I always drain the water heater.
I drain my water heater after every trip so that it doesn't start to smell. I think it's a good maintenance procedure - it extends the life of the anode rod.

RE: Differences in tire pressure question

I would not worry about a 2 lb difference. Any more than that, especially on the steer tires, I would probably correct it.
