RE: Firestone Airbags 2013 Silverado

Have you considered Timbrin's? They are another option to look at, and no worries about air leaks.

RE: F150 payload quetion

My 09 scab 4x4 xlt has 1426lbs. I added hitch, cap, and running boards. It sure goes down fast! As said, less options gives you more.

RE: We may have to sell

A very sad development. Burned beyond reckognition. Very tragic for simply trying to sell a truck.

RE: Victoria Day Weekend - Who's camping?

Not us, the fireworks cause too much stress for members of the family. BUT, we will be around the corner from you for 2 weeks in August at Fundy park!

RE: 1/2 ton towable 5th wheel

I was with my bil this spring at a local rv dealer. He was buying a popup, and questioned the salesman about a fifth wheel in the future. He showed us a new Crossroads that he told him would be ok for his F150. I asked the pin weight and he said around #1400.
When we left I explained to him the knowledge I have gained on this site. That is a "dry" weight, his truck is stickered at #1426, and there was NO way it would work. As you already have said the payload is over from the start, unless you havea hd payload/max tow. Even then I believe you would be pushing it.
I guess I would say look carefully at the numbers, and ignore what the sales person tells you.
Good luck.

RE: We may have to sell

Whatever you do, be carefull. This man has still not been found. From Toronto Star.......The family of a Toronto man arrested in south Mississauga late Friday afternoon is shocked that he's been charged in connection with the mysterious disappearance last Monday of an Ancaster man.
Deepak Paradkar, the lawyer for Dellen Millard, 27, said his client comes from a good family and described him as a “polite, reserved and humble guy.” He has no criminal record that Paradkar knows of, and it makes “no sense” that he would be involved in such a bizarre set of circumstances, Paradkar said.
Millard is charged with theft and forcible confinement in the disappearance of Tim Bosma, 32, a married father of one. Bosma disappeared last Monday night after accompanying two men who took his black Dodge Ram pickup truck on a test drive. Bosma had posted the truck for sale on Kijiji and AutoTrader.

RE: Vent covers

You won't be able to open your vent all the way, but they keep the rain out. Air flow is reduced some I have found.

RE: Adding a new roof vent (& cutting the hole for it)

Yes, no ducted a/c made it easier. Lots of wires up there that surprised me, so be carefull cutting. I started from the inside after finding where the rafters were. Good luck!

RE: Taking a trip to PEI this summer

Not sure on food, but fill up with gas-propane, and booze before you cross. Its a lot more expensive here. Our gas is around $4.80 for your US gallon.

RE: Has anyone tried to add a sky light?

I did add a roof vent in a previous trailer for that reason. Made a huge difference. You need to locate the vent between the rafters, mine were just enought to fit a 14" vent. I did not have ducts for the a/c, watch out for them, and wires! Lots of things running thru that space up there. I pulled down a cieling light to look first.
Good luck.

RE: surge protector

Just installed a Progressive 30amp hardwire yesterday. It would not power up due to a code for open
ground in my cord. I had no idea there was a problem!
Highly reccomended installing one, too much electronics in rv's now to take a chance. $219 from lawrencerv.com.

I would put the money in a seperate account, let it grow untill you need a repair. Remember they are at it to make money, or they wouldn't do it.

I have the same trailer, loaded light it weighs #6650. Also check your payload, the tongue weight is #700 dry, closer to #900 loaded with battery and propane.
Good luck!

RE: Think Twice Before Buying Anything Prime Time!

I had the same problem with the outside kitchen door on my 2012 Gulfstream Kingsport. I drilled holes in the bottom to let the water out, nothing but rotten wood in there. It also was a Lippert door.
It was replaced when it was about 10 months old, and started to warp the fiberglass. The new door was the same, not sealed.
After that, and the slideout roof rotting thru, I had to dump it. Took a huge hit, but couldn't live with the shoddy construction that seems to be accepted by the manufacturers.
Good luck.
